Smokers already pay enough in taxes. It's unfair to make them carry a bigger burden.
It makes perfect sense. Since smokers contribute greatly to the state's health costs, they should pay a higher tax to help support health care.
If smokers don't want to pay the taxes, they should quit. Maybe this is just the incentive they need.
Small business are sure to suffer as fewer people buy cigarettes in Massachusetts.
