The Board of Selectmen need to listen to the residents who overwhelmingly support the turbine. Reignite negotiations with the contractor and build it now.
Wind turbines are a waste. The selectmen are right to fight against it despite its approval at Town Meeting. Representatives have to do what is right, not only what is popular.
Westport, like all of society, needs to invest in renewable energy, but this isn't the right way to do it. The selectmen should seek other, more substantial, energy developments.
