If you don't equally mix the both together, then the students are missing peer-based role models they could have followed, e.g. well behaved girls encourage well behaved boys. The world isn't separated, so why should they be?
Please - School needs to prepare kids for real life!! And in real life, guess what - both genders are around!! This society coddles kids too much as it is and this is just one more way to do that. Sorry kids - learn to deal the way we all did!
